António Sá-Dantas has conducted both professional and amateur groups, orchestras, ensembles and choirs. He focuses mainly on choral conducting at the time, with a passion for working with semi-professionals and amateur groups.
Choral
António is the current Music Director of three choirs in London: Union Chapel Singers, Thameside harmony Chorus and Laudamus Chamber Choir. The Union Chapel Singers, which is a community choir based in the unique Union Chapel in Islington. Antonio established a tradition of Sing-Along concerts with various themes that include the community and are always full. The Thameside Harmony Chorus is a barbershop group based in Richmond, with which Antonio explores classic and new barbershop music. Laudamus Chamber Choir is a mixed choir with with Antonio explores the core repertoire as well as lesser known works of choir music, usually with accompaniment. He occasionally conducts the Londinium chamber choir in Evensongs and works with other choirs around London.
Antonio also conducts children’s choirs, mainly in Austria during summer camps.
Instrumental
Antonio is the co-founder, artistic director and conductor of the Cats’s Cradle Collective, a flexible instrumental ensemble co-created with Maren Bosma in 2018. The aim of the Cat’s Cradle is to weave music ranging from the renaissance to current times, into performances that include spoken word, movement and theatrical elements. With the music in the foreground, this becomes an enhanced concert experience. He was the assistant conductor of the Royal College of Music Student Union Film Music Orchestra (2019); MD of the Medical University Student Orchestra in Graz, Austria.
